FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Embedded Systems Conference, Boston ( September 21, 2009)
Express Logic, Inc., the leader in royalty-free real-time operating systems (RTOS), today announced the integration of Real-Time Logic’s popular Barracuda Embedded Web Server™ with Express Logic’s ThreadX® RTOS and NetX™ TCP/IP Stack. Optimized for the embedded market, the joint technologies form a small footprint solution ideal for the remote connected devices needed in medical, industrial, military and consumer applications.
The Barracuda Embedded Web Server is a proven software solution for easily creating sophisticated embedded graphical applications for remote management and supervision of in-the-field connected devices. The Barracuda Embedded Web Server radically simplifies and shortens the development cycle for devices in need of remote management and/or supervision. The Barracuda Embedded App Server is an industrial-strength embeddable application server engine optimized for embedded devices. The server's plug-in architecture enables anything from simple device control to running a full-fledged application server in a remote device.
The application server extends the ThreadX RTOS, enabling one to dynamically manage applications running in any device. It delivers the following benefits:
“Express Logic has done a great job ensuring that its technology can provide all the services needed even when resources are tight,”commented Wilfred Nilsen, President and CEO of Real-Time Logic. “Mobile devices need applications to run on minimal power and in a small footprint. Thanks to the careful design of ThreadX and NetX, we are able to maximize these resources, adding powerful functionality to small, battery-operated devices.”
“The addition of the Barracuda web server gives our ThreadX and NetX customers the additional functionality that makes their systems more powerful, flexible, and easier to use,” noted William E. Lamie, president fo Express Logic. “It’s a pleasure to work with other leading-edge technology providers. Together we deliver a solution that meets today’s needs for Internet connectivity and remote system management.”
ThreadX is Express Logic’s small-footprint, fast, royalty-free RTOS for demanding real-time applications. NetX is Express Logic’s IPv4/IPv6 TCP/IP stack with small-footprint and low overhead for real-time embedded systems. Both products are licensed with a royalty-free business model, making ThreadX and NetX extremely attractive for high-volume devices.
Equally important is the ease-of-use that enables ThreadX-powered devices to get to market on time and within budget, leading to high levels of success in the marketplace and the resulting high production volumes. Express Logic’s products are used in over 650 million embedded devices, in applications such as consumer electronics, medical equipment, industrial automation, and wireless networking communications.
ThreadX is available with full source code, royalty-free licenses starting at $12,500. Barracuda Web Server licenses are available from Real-Time Logic, Inc., at prices starting at $10,000.
Headquartered in San Diego, CA, with field offices in Redditch, UK, and Hanover and Munich, Germany, Express Logic offers the most advanced run-time solutions and development tools for deeply embedded applications, including its popular ThreadX® RTOS, the high-performance NetX™ TCP/IP stack, the FileX® embedded FAT-compatible file system, the USBX™ Host/Device USB protocol stack, the PEGX™ GUI development kit, the BenchX™ Eclipse-based IDE, and the TraceX™ real-time graphical event trace and analysis tool.
